When I turned 75 this year, I decided to give myself a big ol’ present. For six weeks in September and October, I traveled solo to visit dear friends I’ve made all over Europe in the past 30 years.
My destinations included Paris, Marrakesh, London, Deal, Porto, Milan, Bellagio, Venice, Bologna, and then to three tiny towns in Tuscany.
Honestly, it was the trip of a lifetime. My aim was simply to see people I love, and that’s exactly what I did. Everywhere I went, they were happy to see me, too! Six weeks gave me enough time in each place to relax and deeply reconnect with folks who mean so much to me.
Of course, I also discovered new places and adventures to share with you. Just to give you a tiny ‘taste’ of my trip:
This beautiful Riad in Marrakesh
Street life in Paris
The village of Deal on the English Channel
A guided foodie tour with friends in Porto
Bellagio gardens on Lake Como
Sunday dinner
“al fresco” with friends in Bologna
And in Tuscany, I found Bagno Vignoni, where, instead of a town square, there is a thermal pool of warm water gushing 24/7right in front of city hall! Magical.
Anne in Venice, inviting you to join her
Needless to say, I will be including some of these discoveries when I lead my upcoming group tour in Venice and Tuscany, May 21 – June 1, 2024 to The Venice International Art Biennale & Beyond!
